Pilot DaveG is somewhat of a mystery. He does not know where he comes from but he does know that he did not originate in the world that he findshimself with the UKM. All he knows is that he arrived in this world in an escape pod, which preys on his mind as a bad omen.

He was inducted into the Quantar faction as being sent from Hamalzah as a vessel for a lost soul. This story DaveG found hard to swallow, and further investigations made him doubt this even more. He maintained his doubt despite the lack of any other theory of where he came from, all he knew was that it was not from 'here'.

He is dogged by regular visions, an image of what he calls a "Lion" and an un-faced father figure in his dreams, and huge metallic figures that make the ground shake. However, there are no worlds belonging to the TRI that have anything that matches the images from his dreams. Quantar clerics tried to persaude him that these are instructions from Hamalzah and come up with explanations that bear little logical links to the original images.

DaveG tried to research where he came from, from what little links to his mysterious past he held. He eventually found an image of what he called a "Lion", it was in the logo of a multi-faction squad called "UKM". Upon reading these letters, a stomach churing resonance was triggered, and he knew that he must seek them out. Research was hard for DaveG to carry out, as whenever he docked at a Quantar station, the clerics would always be pestering him, trying to teach him in the way of the Quantar and the holy book of Hamalzah. DaveG has little time for the "bible bashers", as he calls them.

DaveG, soon found members of the UKM, and was immediately accepted. He was far more happy here with his new squad mates. He still felt far from home, but at least with UKM he was free of the factionalistic racism of all pro-faction pilots. There was one member of UKM that showed as much interest in him as the Quantar clerics, a Quantar himself, Aelgas was a noted scholar, and riding close on the edge of being labeled heretic, which warmed DaveG to him almost immediately.

DaveG hopes that with UKM he can find out about himself and his past. In the meantime, his natural charactistics have began to return. He has become a more agressive pilot, actively seeking out the alien Conflux vessles, in an attempt to keep the space ways clear, sometimes he has destroyed 'flux too vigourously thus upsetting the hunting etiquét that was unknown to him. He has an almost obsessive hatred of bully-like squads, which has got him and his squad mates into more than one scrape. He has a strong sense of right and wrong, he is a maverick yet tempered pilot.

He can often be found with his squad mates, kicking back and supping down a few cans of Octavian light, and bemoaning the lack of female pilots around, and the price of Barrak guns! Despite being aware of his displacement, he still cannot believe his squad mates have never heard of Weird Al Yankovic!
